Eyeball Desserts

Here are some ways to lose weight fast.

1. Lower your carbohydrate intake. Don't go overboard and try to cut them out completely.Reduce your carbohydrates. Do not cut your carbohydrates out completely because they are a source of energy for your body. Aside from the obvious reduction in sugar, lower your intake of pasta and bread.

2. Take baby steps. If you increase your awareness of what you are actually eating you will have some opportunities to make some good choices. Start with a small step but gradually substituting healthier foods for the bad foods. We all know that good fitness comes from healthy meeting and exercise; so gradually start to increase the amount of physical exercise you do on a daily basis. This can be as simple as starting to walk more.

3. Cut out the bad food. Come on now, we're all adults we know which foods are good and which foods are bad. So give it up, knock out the soda pop, cookies, candy, and desserts. If you really have to, save them as a special treat for when something exceptional happens maybe once a week. No way around it, to lose weight you have to cut out the garbage.

4. Eat healthy foods and do activities you enjoy. Asparagus is healthy, but I hate it. If I have to force myself to eat it I won't be on the diet for very long. If you choose foods that are healthy and you really enjoy eating well will not be so much a case of having to give things up, but being able to look forward to enjoyable food. The same is true for exercise, work things in your routine you actually enjoy and are not a chore; you be more likely to continue them.

5. Get stronger, build up some muscle. It is a known fact that having more muscle burns more calories. You do not necessarily have to join a gym, working out with free weights is easy you need done in the convenience of your own home. It's kind of fun knowing that the muscle is actually burning off the calories for you.

6. Use portion control. A lot of people meticulously use diet scales to measure their food, and that is great, but it is not for me. I would go bananas doing that. It is possible however, to raise your awareness and to be able to eyeball food portions within a couple of ounces. It is always better to eat smaller meals more frequently than to have one or two huge meals for the day.

7. Set S.M.A.R.T goals. S.M.A.R.T stands for specific, measurable, achievable, reward of all, and time specific goals. An example of this might be "I want to lose 10 pounds of body fat in the next 30 days, and when I do that I'm going to treat myself to a new pair of jeans". The worst thing is to set unrealistic goals into shorter time frame, become discouraged and give up on the diet completely.
