Before you begin "serving" some holiday Dessert recipes, talk about Splenda.
What is Splenda?
Splenda is a sugar substitute. Its popularity was in 1998 when the Food and Drug Administration approved for use in the commercially prepared bakery products. Sixty other countries followed the lead of the U.S. FDA.
Rose Reisman, who wrote Secrets of Permanent Weight Loss (Whitecap Books, 2005) is described as a sweetener Splenda best option. Containing Sucralose, which is the only sweetener made from sugar and the only sweetener that is not associated with health problems. Not as a carbohydrate is digested, so diabetics not have to worry about experiencing an increase in insulin levels.
People used to say that Splenda has an advantage over other sweetener is that it retains its sweetness even when heated.
Christmas Dessert using SPLENDA
You can come across recipes that say Splenda, but says "sucralose." They are a same thing. Splenda is available in most stores and come in small packages yellow.
Recipe # 1: On a cold morning of Christmas Eve, what better way to wake the sleeping heads with the spicy smell of pear muffins coming straight from the oven?
Pear Muffins
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 20-25 minutes
Servings: 12 muffins yields
Ingredients:
Canola oil
2 cups self-rising flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
¾ cup sucralose
2 / 3 cup skim milk or milk low fat
2 eggs
2 ripe pears
Procedure:
Peel and pear puree and reserve.
Prepare your grease muffin pan with canola oil. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine self-rising flour and baking powder in large bowl. Slowly add sucralose. In a separate bowl, mix milk, oil and eggs. Combine with flour mixture. Add the pureed pears. Mix all ingredients well. Pour into individual 12-hole muffin.
Bake for 15-20 minutes.
These muffins can be stored at room temperature and eaten the next day, but is best eaten the same day!
Recipe # 2: Who does not love New York style Cheesecake? That is a popular dessert that grocery stores and supermarkets now sell frozen, but why Why spoil the Christmas spirit for serving the frozen food? Make this recipe and make it a labor of love. The children, grandchildren, uncles, cousins and I love you for this in New York style cheesecake that was made from scratch!
New York-Style Cheesecake
Preparation Time: 15-20 minutes
Cooking time: 20-25 minutes
Serves: 12 individual servings (recipe is for a cheese Whole cake)
Ingredients:
1-3/4 cups ricotta cheese
3 oz light or lowfat cream cheese
½ cup sour cream
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon lemon zest
Splenda 2 / 3 cup
3 cup lemon juice tsbp (preferably fresh)
3 tablespoons flour
To decorate: your favorite berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, currants) and icing sugar.
Procedure:
Line your muffin pan with paper muffin cups. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Smooths cream cheese and combine with ricotta cheese in a food processor. Add the sour cream, egg, vanilla, lemon juice (and enthusiasm), flour and Splenda. Sure the mixture is smooth and creamy. Pour mixture into individual muffin holes.
Place the molds in a large saucepan with hot water. Hot water should reach 1 / 3 to half of the sides of the muffin tray. Put in oven and bake for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, remove the tray the largest muffin tray. Set aside and let cool. Refrigerate for an hour or two. Top with garnish before serving. You can use the beans as they are, or you can mash them to cover the top and slide on the side.

Simple and Quick Chocolate Cake
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Servings: 6
Ingredients:
1-1/2 cups flour
Sucralose 2 / 3 cup
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
3 tablespoons of mixture hot chocolate powder (any combination of hot chocolate will do)
1 teaspoon vinegar
8 tablespoons canola oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup water (or 1 cup skim milk, if preferred)
Procedure:
Sift flour, baking soda, sucralose, salt and hot chocolate powder together. Add the remaining wet ingredients. Mix well. Pour into an 8-inch round baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Let cool and serve with your favorite topping.
Note: Instead of icing, use the English Devonshire cream. Spoon a few tablespoons of dessert on the plate, enough for a slice of cake for sit. Also, if you have left over chopped almonds or chopped nuts can be thrown to the ground.
